AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2007-08): Turned in a 6-17 (.261) record, including a 3-6 (.333) mark in tournaments … Earned one victory by pin and two others by major decision.

AS A FRESHMAN (2006-07): Competed in tournaments as an unattached wrestler.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at North Gaston High School for coach Cliff Travis … Helped lead Wildcats to a conference tournament title as a prep senior … Earned second consecutive all-conference laurels after registering a 44-12 (.786) record … Was decorated with both the James G. Dually and 700 Club awards … Earned all-conference and all-state laurels as a junior after turning in a 48-18 (.727) record … Earned Team Before Self award and 700 Club honors … Also earned all-conference honors in track & field for North Gaston and was also a standout on the football and golf teams.

PERSONAL: The son of Elizabeth Watson and Jeffery G. Clemmer was born on Nov. 20, 1986 … Has a younger brother, William, and a younger sister, Caroline … Maintained a 3.3 cumulative grade point average at North Gaston High School and graduated in the top 25 percent of his 210-member senior class … A criminal justice major at UNCP.
