AS A SOPHOMORE (2017-18): Turned in a 7-9 (.438) record, including a 6-8 mark in tournament action … Tallied three wins via pin and three others by major decision … Went 1-2 against NCAA Division II competition … Earned a trip to the podium at the UCF Classic (4^th) and the Citrus Invitational (10^th) … Split four matches at the season-opening Hokie Open … Went 2-1 at the UCF Classic, including two bonus-point victories … Tallied a 2-3 clip at the Citrus Invitational … Picked up first collegiate dual meet win with a 13-4 exhibition victory over Alessandro Araujo of Queens.
 
AS A FRESHMAN (2016-17): Competed in two tournaments … Compiled a 2-4 (.333) record with one pin ... Tallied a 0-2 record at the Pembroke Classic ... Recorded a 2-2 record at the UCF Open, including a pin in his opening match of the event.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Arizona College Prep-Erie for coach Paul Huffman … Qualified for the state tournament during each of last two prep seasons and finished prep career with a 124-16 (.886) record) … Earned all-conference and team most outstanding wrestler laurel following each of last two prep seasons … Logged a 41-4 (.911) clip as a senior and captured a trio of tournament championships … Also placed second at the region tournament … Logged a 31-3 (.912) clip as a junior and finished third at the state tournament … Also placed second at the region tournament and third at the Rocky Mountain Nationals.
 
PERSONAL: The son of Lisa and Steve Perez … Maintained a 3.7 cumulative grade point average at Arizona College Prep-Erie, while also taking home a pair of academic all-American accolades … A marketing major at UNCP.
