AS A JUNIOR (2009-10): Earned all-American honors at 125 pounds with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Omaha, Neb. … Finished second campaign in Pembroke with a 28-5 record, including a 19-3 mark in dual meet matchups … Tallied a team-leading 11 pins, won three matches by technical falls and a trio of others by major decision … Compiled a 19-3 mark against NCAA Division II foes … Began season as nation’s fifth-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds … Reeled off five-straight wins to begin season before dropping championship match of Pembroke Classic to Newberry’s Matt Oliver (4-2 decision) … Won all three matches at Spartanburg Duals, including pins against King’s Jacob Holley and Spartanburg Methodist’s Luke Campbell … Avenged early-loss to Newberry’s Matt Olive with a 6-1 decision in dual matchup with second-ranked Wolves in February … Qualified for NCAA postseason by closing season with nine-straight wins before injury defaulting in championship match of Super Region I Tournament … Dropped NCAA Tournament opener to Nebraska-Omaha’s Terrell McKinney (5-2 decision), but rebounded with two-straight victories in consolation tournament against Western State’s Kyle O’Brien (7-3 decision) and Pitt-Johnstown’s Ryan Link (pin).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2008-09): Qualified for NCAA Division II Championships in Omaha, Neb., with a second place finish at the Super Region I Tournament … Concluded initial campaign in Pembroke with a 21-3 record, including a 4-1 clip in dual meet matchups … Tallied a team-leading 11 pins and won three other matches by major decision … Dropped his dual opener to Belmont Abbey’s Chris Neidermeier in mid-November, but responded by winning each of his next 19 matches … Grabbed tournament championships at the Pembroke Classic, Davidson Open and Ed South Tournament … Posted a 12-4 major decision over Upper Iowa’s Kyle Pedretti, but dropped a tight 3-2 decision to second-ranked Arsenia Barksdale of Adams State, as well as a 6-4 sudden victory to seventh-ranked C.J. Hamilton of Anderson in the consolation tournament.

BEFORE UNCP: Competed for two seasons (2006-08) at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa … Tallied four pins at the national tournament to earn all-American status as a freshman in 2007 … Was also decorated with national academic honors as well … Redshirted as a sophomore.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Fort Madison (Iowa) High School … Compiled a 148-9 career record, including 97 victories by pin … Won a pair of state championships in the large school class, while also medaling four times at the state tournament as well … Registered a fifth place finish as a freshman, won the state title to conclude both his sophomore and junior campaigns, and finished third as a prep senior.

PERSONAL: The son of Krista and Richard Weakley was born on May 30, 1987 … Has two sisters, Heather and Khyla … A business major at UNCP.
