A three-time Conference Carolinas pole vault champion, Cole Thomas enters his first year as assistant coach for the UNC Pembroke track & field teams.
Thomas will work with the jumps and multi-event athletes, while also serving as director of program operations for the UNCP cross country teams.
The Tallahassee, Fla. native brought home champion honors in the pole vault and was named USTFCCCA All-Region in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
Thomas served in 2023 as a county pole vault coach for Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Sarasota County, while also spending time as an assistant coach and brand rep at the Florida Pole Vault Factory in 2025.
He received his bachelor's degree in psychology from UNCP in May 2025, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in sports administration at UNC Pembroke.
