An accomplished photographer with more than 20 years of experience on a variety of levels, Willis Glassgow enters his 12th year as university photographer in 2025-26.
Glassgow began his storied career as a freelance photojournalist in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he covered the civil wars in both Bosnia and Croatia as a foreign correspondent for the European Press Agency and Agence France Presse from 1992-96. During that time, he also served a stint in Vienna, Austria, as a freelance staffer with the Austrian Presse Agentur.
Glassgow returned stateside in 1996 as a staff photographer with the Florence (S.C.) Morning News where he raked in several awards for his photographs, while serving as a senior photographer. He established WG Sports Photos, an independent photography agency, in 2000 and has logged stints at hundreds of sporting events at colleges and universities over the last 15 years. Many of his photos have been featured in Sports Illustrated, as well as purchased by the Associated Press.
Glassgow earned his bachelor’s degree in photography from Arizona State in 1990, while also earning a degree in photography and German from Salzburg (Austria) College in 1988.
