Having already gained invaluable experience as both an NCAA Division II student-athlete, as well as in the compliance offices at a pair of NCAA Division I athletics departments, Christina Chow enters her seventh season at UNC Pembroke in 2025-26 as the assistant athletics director for compliance. She also serves as the department’s senior woman administrator.
Â
Chow is responsible for applying NCAA legislation in the areas of financial aid, eligibility, recruiting, athletics personnel and playing and practice seasons, while also conforming to compliance rules issued by both the Peach Belt Conference and Mountain East Conference.
Â
A defensive specialist by trade, Chow played in more than 160 sets for the Armstrong State volleyball team from 2010-13, while also logging nearly 90 digs and 27 service aces. The Pirates reeled off a 126-25 (.834) record during her stay to go along with three PBC regular season championships, two PBC Tournament titles and a quartet of NCAA Tournament appearances. While balancing her role as a student-athlete, Chow was also very active in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including a two-year stay as president of the ASU chapter of the organization.
Â
Following her athletic career, Chow transitioned into an intern role in the compliance office at Georgia State University where she was tasked with creating rules education presentation and monthly compliance newsletters, while also updating eligibility and admission statuses for prospective student-athletes. She made the move to nearby Georgia Tech in 2017 as a compliance assistant and was tasked with multiple duties, including monitoring countable athletically-related activities and time management plans.
Â
Chow received her bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation sciences from Armstrong State in 2014, and went on to earn her master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State in 2017. She and her husband, Branan, have one son, Lucas.
