GREENWOOD, S.C. – After suffering a loss to USC Aiken on Friday, UNCP regrouped and exhausted Lander as the Lady Braves dished out 16 block assists and 82 digs on defense, as well as 43 kills on offense to bring home the 3-0 victory on Saturday afternoon in the Horne Arena.

Senior Rebecca Morgan led the UNCP (12-15, 4-7 PBC) offense with 16 kills on 37 attempts for a .324 hitting percentage along with totaling four service aces, while Tiara Anderson registered a double-double with 10 kills and 18 digs. The Lady Braves used a .193 hitting percentage to breeze past Lander (13-14, 3-8) along with a 68 percent sideout percentage.

Setter Ashlyn Rebok posted a double-double herself with 38 assists and 12 digs. Sophomore Marissa Baker led the team with 29 digs while Jennifer Grunden added 11. UNCP took game with a score of 25-14 and a 73 percent side out percentage before closing out the final two games with scores of 25-21 and 25-21.

The Bearcats were led by on offense by Hannah Dederick with 10 kills on 26 attempts but the team posted an overall .101 hitting percentage. On defense, Madison Kubal tallied a team-best 23 digs while four other Bearcats had double-digit digs. Jessica Register dished out 21 assists but the Bearcats suffered a 52 percent sideout percentage throughout the match.

The Lady Braves return home for the remainder of the 2011 season when they host PBC rival Francis Marion (10-16, 2-9) on Wednesday in the English E. Jones Center with the match slated to start at 7 p.m.
