GREENWOOD, S.C. – Red-hot Lander scored at least four goals in each half and the Bearcats clinched at least a share of the Peach Belt Conference regular season title with a 9-0 victory over the UNC Pembroke men's soccer team on Wednesday evening at Van Taylor Stadium.
The setback marked the second-straight series loss for the Braves (4-7-0, 3-4-0) who fell to 9-24-2 all-time in the series with the Bearcats. Lander (10-3-0, 7-0-0) has now won nine-straight games, and improved to 6-1-0 in Greenwood this season with the result.

Jordan Walshaw each tallied a pair of shots to pace the Black & Gold offense, while
Lucas Gusmao and
Trenton Spigener split time between the posts for the visitors. Three different players registered two goals apiece for the hosts, while Hugo Delhommelle tallied a trio of assists.
The Bearcats found the back of the net with four of their six first-half shots to take a comfortable advantage into the break, and then out-shot the Braves 18-2 in a second period that saw them score five more times.
UNCP will be back in action on Saturday when it returns home to take on North Georgia (8-8-0, 5-2-0) in the front half of a 10:30 a.m. doubleheader at Lumbee River EMC Stadium. Admission to all 2016 UNCP soccer home games is free.
