FLORENCE, S.C. – Junior right-side hitter
Amber Tyndall uncorked at least seven kills for the seventh time this season and the UNC Pembroke volleyball team had more blocks and digs than Francis Marion, but the host Patriots toppled the Braves in straight sets Tuesday evening in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action.

FIRST SET
-The Braves grabbed the first lead of the match with a Francis Marion service error followed by a service ace by
Madelyn Ashwell.
-Down 12-7, a Tyndall kill sandwiched with a pair of Patriot attack errors brought the Black & Gold to within two at 12-10.
-Eleven of the next 14 rallies went to the hosts to give the Patriots a commanding 23-14 lead in which they turned into a 25-17 first-set victory.
SECOND SET
-A pair of Francis Marion runs (6-0 and 6-1) wrapped around two UNCP points handed the Patriots a quick 12-3 lead to start the set.
-The Braves showed resilience down 22-11 by rattling off five-straight points, including kills form Tyndall and
Michelle Voyer, as well as a Voyer and
Makaylah Elliott block.
-Voyer picked up her fourth kill of the set to pull the Braves to within seven at 24-17, but a Patriot kill ended the set one point later.
THIRD SET
-UNCP's most impressive stretch of the night came in the third set with the guests down 12-8. The Braves used five kills, an ace and a block in a seven-point span to grab a 15-12 edge.
-The sides traded points until the Patriots turned in three-straight to go in front 23-22.
-Another Tyndall kill brought the set even at 23-23, but the hosts registered the final two points to win the set and the match.
NOTABLES
-The six UNCP blocks doubled up the counterparts, while 41 digs from the Braves were three more than Francis Marion's 38.
-The Braves hit a match-best .289 in the final set to the Patriots' .235, but were outhit .286-.160 in the match.
-Voyer paced the guests with a career-high 10 kills and .318 attack percentage.
-Tyndall tacked on seven kills and two block assists, while Elliott and Ashwell each added six kills.

Cayce Bell racked up a match-high 16 digs and is now just 104 away from 1,000 in her career at UNCP.

Bailee Jones dished out a team-best 19 assists and added a season-high three kills .

The Braves take a quick break from PBC play with a Thursday, home duel with Claflin. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. The Panthers (3-9) are 0-1 against PBC competition this season, having lost a straight-sets match to USC Aiken on September 16. UNCP holds a 5-0 lead in the all-time series with Claflin that dates back to the first meeting in 1985. Most recently, the Black & Gold won a pair of 3-1 affairs against the Panthers in 2015.
