PEMBROKE – Rilee Seering's 97
th minute Golden Goal off a corner kick from Christine Rolfe broke a 0-0 stalemate and lifted the UNC Pembroke soccer team to a 1-0 upset of 25
th-ranked North Georgia on Tuesday afternoon at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.
The triumph marked the first home victory for the Braves (8-4-1, 5-3-1 PBC) over the Nighthawks since 2012, and kept the Black & Gold in the hunt to host the opening round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Tuesday. North Georgia (10-3-1, 6-2-1) fell to 3-2-1 away from Dahlonega, Ga., this season, and is now 1-2-1 in its last four outings.
