PEMBROKE – Stacey Scott headed home a corner kick from
Christine Rolfes just seven minutes into the second half and the fourth-seeded UNC Pembroke soccer team got the bulk of play the rest of the way out on the way to a 1-0 victory over fifth-seeded North Georgia in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
The win helped the Braves (10-4-1) push their unbeaten streak out to seven games, while also giving the Black & Gold its 15
th-straight home win as well. The setback likely puts the lid on the 2018 campaign for the Nighthawks (10-5-1) who won just one of their last six outings (1-4-1).
UNCP advances to Friday's PBC Tournament quarterfinal round where they will face the winner of Tuesday evening's game between top-seeded and third-ranked Columbus State and eighth-seeded Clayton State.
