ROCKY MOUNT – Freshman
Jaycie Knight captured second-place showings in both the 100- and 200-Yard Backstroke events to highlight action for the UNC Pembroke swimming & diving team in a 205-42 loss at Barton on Saturday afternoon at the Harrison County YMCA in Rocky Mount.
Knight posted a personal-best time of 1:05.25 in the 100-yard event, and then tallied a personal-best time of 2:26.27 on the way to a runner-up spot in the 200-yard event. She also set a personal-best time of 30.22 in the 50-Yard Backstroke as the front leg on the 200-Yard Medley Relay.
Bianca Bateman posted a runner-up finish for the Black & Gold against the Bulldogs, finishing less than eight seconds off first place in the 200-Yard Breaststroke with a school-record time of 2:49.52.
The Braves will close out the Fall portion of their 2018-19 schedule on November 17 when they trek to Cary for the Greensboro Invitational. Competition at the Triangle Aquatic Center is set to get underway at 8 a.m.
