CARY – The UNC Pembroke swimming & diving sits atop the team standings at the Greensboro-hosted Mid-Season Invitational after capturing eight of 12 events through two sessions on Thursday, while also establishing two school records along the way.
Megan Hunter (500 Free, 200 Free) won a pair of individual event titles on the day, as did newcomer
Bianca Bateman (100 Fly, 100 Back).
Victoria Brousseau busted her own school record in the 100 Breast after pacing the rest of the field with a time of 1:15.55.
The Braves won a trio of relays on the day, finishing 1-2 in the 200 Freestyle Relay, while also picking up event titles in the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay. UNCP's mark of 1:49.62 in the 200 Freestyle Relay bested the old school record by more than 0.50 seconds.
UNCP will continue competition at the Mid-Season Invitational on Sunday in Cary. Action inside the Triangle Aquatic Center is scheduled to get underway at 8:10 a.m.
