MURFREESBORO – Bianca Bateman took top honors in the 100-meter Butterfly, while Jaiden Estrada turned in a pair of top-3 finishes on the night, to lead the UNC Pembroke swimming & diving team to a split om the Chowan Tri-Meet on Saturday evening.
 
The Braves topped William Peace by a score of 125-39, but fell to the host-Hawks by a 119-75 count.
 
Estrada finished second in the 100-meter Freestyle event, while also logging a third-place finish in the 200-meter Freestyle. Jaycie Knight finished second in the 100-meter Backstroke, as did Victoria Brousseau in the 100-meter Breaststroke.
 
The Black & Gold placed second in both the 400-meter Medley and 400-meter Freestyle relays in Murfreesboro as well.
 
The Braves will take a three-week hiatus from competition before closing out their 2018-19 schedule, Feb. 7-9, at the Suncoast Swimming Conference Championships in Orlando.
