PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke soccer team netted the first goal of the contest, but No. 4 Flagler utilized a 70
th-minute penalty kick to even the game back up, and then netted the Golden Goal nine minutes into overtime to give the visitors a 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.
The setback snapped a 21-game home unbeaten streak for the Braves (7-3-0, 3-2-0 PBC) who had not lost a game on its home turf since the start of the 2017 season. The nationally-ranked Saints (10-0-0, 5-0-0) stretched their unbeaten streak in the series with UNCP out to five games, and have not lost to the Braves since the 2014 campaign.
