CHARLOTTE – Newcomer Ketlyn Rodriguez Matos shattered her own school record in the 200-yard Individual Medley and then teamed up with Jaycie Knight, Bianca Bateman and Natalia Sarmiento to do it again in the 400-yard Medley Relay to highlight action for the UNC Pembroke swimming team on Friday at the Queens-hosted Fall Frenzy Invitational.
 
Rodriguez Matos topped her 1-month-old school record in the 200-yard Individual Medley by more than two seconds. Four Braves – newcomers Sarah Morden and Alyssa Ramosbarbosa, as  well as Bateman and Karina Ramosbarbosa – also posted new personal-best times in the 50-yard Freestyle, with Morden coming within .22 seconds of the school record in the event.
 
The evening session produced another school record for the Black & Gold when the 400-yard Medley Relay team bested the mark for the second time in just more than a month. This time, the relay squad touched in 4:11.14 – a time more than nine seconds better than the previous program superlative.
 
The Black & Gold will continue action at the three-day Fall Frenzy Invitational on Saturday. Morden, Rodriguez Matos, and Bianca Bateman will lead things off for the Braves in the 100-yard Butterfly at 10:30 a.m.
