PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke women's basketball team outscored visiting Augusta 32-14 in the paint and dominated the boards and never trailed on the way to a 68-48 victory over the Jaguars on Wednesday evening.
The triumph snapped a three game skid for the Braves (8-14, 7-9 PBC) who have now won three consecutive games against Augusta in Pembroke. The setback marked the third loss in the last four contests for the Jaguars (5-17, 4-12 PBC) who fell to 2-8 away from Christenberry Fieldhouse this season.

| 1ST QUARTER |
Se'Dasia Love scored nine of the game's first 11 points as UNCP opened up a seven-point advantage just four minutes in. Augusta tacked up the next three points to eat into its deficit,
but the Braves would score the next five points to stretch their lead out to 14-5 thanks to a 3-point play from Melanie Horne with 3-1/2 minutes left. The hosts eventually took a 24-14 lead into the second period. |
| 2ND QUARTER |
| Augusta whittled its deficit back to four points, 24-20, just 2-1/2 minutes into the quarter off of an Kaela Patrick trey, but the Black & Gold responded nearly 20 seconds later with a three of their own from Melanie Horne to push its lead back out to 27-20. UNCP got a jumper from Se'Dasia Love with 46 seconds left to take a 32-25 lead into the locker rooms. |
| 3RD QUARTER |
| Augusta trimmed its deficit back to two possessions, 32-27, just 16 seconds into the second half off of a running layup from Brianna Middleton. UNCP scored the next seven points to cushion its lead out to 39-27 with seven minutes left in the quarter. A shot from the perimeter by Mallory Myers kept the Jaguars within striking distance, but the Braves would score the final six points to head into the final stanza leading 53-40. |
| 4TH QUARTER |
| UNC Pembroke would take advantage of a 0-for-9 shooting performance from Augusta in the first four minutes of the final period to pad its lead out to 20 points, and took its largest lead of the night, 68-46, off of two made free throws from Aliyah Farmer to put away the victory. |

| INSIDE THE BOX SCORE |
+ Melanie Horne registered her fourth double-double in the last six games with a game-high 19 points and 10 boards.
+ Se'Dasia Love scored a career-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting in 18 minutes of action. She just missed her second career double-double with eight rebounds.
+ Tee Graham tallied her second double-double of the season with 10 points while matching a career-high with 10 rebounds (all defensive rebounds). She also had six assists, one block and one steal. |

+ UNC Pembroke led for 38 minutes and 10 seconds (95 percent of game) in Wednesday's win, taking the lead for good on Se'Dasia Love's bucket with 8:10 to play in the first quarter.
+ The Black & Gold shot better than 60 percent in the first and third quarters, shooting 66.7 (8-for-12) percent and 61.5 percent (8-for-13), respectively.
+ The triumph snapped a three-game skid for the Braves in 2018-19 and was the third-consecutive win over Augusta at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
