Baseball Hits Five Home Runs, Upends No. 8 North Georgia

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke baseball team registered a season-high 24 hits and scored 18 times behind another solid outing from right-hander Nile Ball, and the Braves fended off a weekend sweep with an 18-6 rout of eighth-ranked and Peach Belt Conference leading North Georgia on Sunday afternoon at Sammy Cox Field.

The result gave the Braves (19-22, 9-15 PBC) their third win of the season over a top 5-ranked team while also stopping a three-game skid for the Black & Gold. The setback snapped a four-game winning skein for the Nighthawks (29-11, 16-8) who fell back into a first-place tie with Flagler in the PBC standings as well.
