Ball Leads Baseball By League-Leading Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The UNC Pembroke baseball team struck for seven runs in the sixth and seventh innings behind rigjt-hander Nile Ball's second complete-game outing of the season, and the Braves snapped Peach Belt Conference-leading Flagler's 11-game win streak with a 7-2 victory over the Saints on Saturday.

The result snapped a three-game skid for the Braves (20-25, 10-17 PBC) who remained in the hunt for the eighth and final berth into next month's PBC Tournament. Saturday's setback was the first for the Saints (27-18, 18-9) since a one-run loss at Florida Tech on March 26.

KEY INNINGS
BOT 1 Flagler loaded the bases with its first four at-bats of the contest, but could only muster one run via a Sean Lawlor RBI groundout.
TOP 6 Trevor Clemons singled on the first offering from Flagler starter Blair Calvo in the sixth, and the Braves eventually tied the score back up on Elijah Helton's run-scoring single up the middle. Connor Grainger's triple off of the next pitch by Calvo plated Helton, as well as Ethan Baucom who had reached base via hit by pitch.
BOT 6 Frankie Martello walked to lead off the home half of the frame, and came scampering across home plate later in the frame thanks to a two-out single by Steven DiPuglia.
TOP 7 The Braves loaded the bases with their first three at-bats in the seventh, and tacked up an insurance run on Ethan Baucom's one-out sacrifice fly to deep centerfield. A costly throwing error by the Saints as a result of the next at-bat allowed two more runs to score, and Elijah Helton finished off the four-run inning with a RBI single to left field.
