WILSON – The UNC Pembroke soccer team used an early first half goal and held Barton to just three shots on the night to secure a 1-0 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.
 
It was the second-straight win for the Black & Gold (2-0-0), who improved to 8-3-1 all-time against Barton. It was the seventh-straight series loss for Barton (1-1-0) who has scored just two goals against the Black & Gold over that span.
 

SCORING SUMMARY
9'	Junior Rilee Seering took advantage of a misplay by the goalie and utilized a pass across the center from Alexis Pittman for the only goal of the night.

 

TOP BRAVES

+ Rilee Seering scored an early goal for the Braves for the second-straight game. She has just one career goal heading into the 2019 campaign. + Senior Gina Ryan faced just three shots on the night on the way to recording her 28th career shutout. That total matches former Columbus State netminder Maylyn Parsons who accumulated her clean sheets from 2013-16.

 

NOTABLES

+ The Braves attempted 32 shots (eight on goal) and held Barton to just three (0 on goal). + Tuesday's victory marked the seventh-straight victory over the Bulldogs. + The win also marked the first time since 2012 that the Black & Gold has started the season 2-0-0.

The Braves will be back in action again on Wednesday when they travel to Shaw. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at the MAC in Raleigh.
