Baseball Cruises Past Clafin To Open Weekend Series

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke baseball team plated multiple runs in five different frames on the way to a school-record offensive night as the Braves pushed their win streak out to five games with a 30-0 win over Claflin in the opening game of a three-game Peach Belt Conference series on Friday at Sammy Cox Field.

The run total, which was fueled by a 9-run first inning and a 10-run fifth frame, marked a new school record for the Black & Gold (11-5, 5-2 PBC) who got multi-hit nights from six different players in the victory as well. The setback snapped a two-game win streak for the Panthers (4-8, 0-6) who joined the league as an associate member in baseball prior to the 2019-20 athletic season.
