Naomi Fountain's 15
th minute goal was more than enough offense for the red-hot UNC Pembroke soccer team as the Braves rode an unrelenting defensive effort to a 1-0 win over visiting Wingate on Wednesday afternoon at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.
The victory snapped a six-game series winless streak for the Braves (11-3-0) who picked up their first win over Wingate since 2008, and also tacked up their 10
th-straight win of the season in the process as well. The setback snapped a five-game win streak for the Bulldogs (7-5-0) who had shut out each of their last two opponents as well.

+ UNCP's 10-game win streak is the longest for the program since the 2008 squad strung together 11-straight wins from October 1 to November 7. The 2008 team holds the program record for longest win streak, but the 2016 squad registered a program-best 12-game unbeaten streak from September 14 to October 26.
+ The Braves have outscored opponents, 40-5, over the last 10 outings, including six shutout victories. UNCP has out-shot its opponents over the same span by an average of 25.5 to 7.5.
