                     RALEIGH – Courtney Smith's jumper at the 8:42 mark in the opening quarter was the first basket of the contest, but No. 5 NC State shot better than 48-percent from the field during the contest on the way to a 92-36 victory over the UNC Pembroke women's basketball team on Wednesday evening at Reynolds Coliseum.
 
The Braves (0-0) registered the only two blocks of the contests and shot a team-best 40-percent during the third quarter. The Wolfpack (0-0) forced 20 UNCP turnovers and converted those into 21 points.

			| UNC Pembroke used a jumper from Courtney Smith just two minutes into play for a quick 3-0 lead. Gabby Smith's layup at the seven-minute mark knotted the score at 5 apiece, but NC State went on a 20-7 run to close out the period and hold a 25-12 advantage.  | 
		
		
			| 2ND QUARTER | 
		
		
			| Freshman Zaria Clark's layup at the 8:57 mark trimmed the Braves deficit back to 29-14. The hosts connected on 7-for-16 of their shots over the stanza and took a hefty 43-14 lead as the teams headed into the locker rooms.  | 
		
		
			| 3RD QUARTER | 
		
		
			| NC State's Elissa Cunane's layup just 30 seconds into the half pushed the lead out to 45-14. Courtney Smith responded with a trey, but the Wolfpack went on a 13-1 run that stretched to the six minute mark. The Black & Gold picked up threes from Jadin Gladden and Kelci Adams, and a bucket from Zaria Clark as the period ending with NC State leading 68-26. |

			| The hosts scored the first 11 points of the period to push their lead out to 79-26 with 7:27 left in play. Courtney Smith broke the silence for the Braves after two made free throws just 30 seconds later. NC State connected on 50-percent of their shots during the final quarter to help fuel the outcome.  |

			+ Freshman Zaria Clark connected on 4-for-13 of shots from the field and scored eight points. Clark also pulled down a team-best six rebounds.
