Soccer Slips Past Georgia College With Two Second Half Goals

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA. – Rilee Seering and Alexis Pittman each netted a goal late in the second half to help the UNC Pembroke soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Georgia College on Sunday afternoon at Dr. John S. Robertson Field.
 
The victory for the Braves (4-1-0) marked the fifth win in the last six meetings with Georgia College. The teams ended in a 2-2 draw on October 20, 2018. The setback for the Bobcats (1-3-0) have now lost their last three matches. 






 
SCORING SUMMARY
79' Rilee Seering played a pass from Nutwadee Pramnak to net the first goal of the game.
83'  Alexis Pittman dribbled around Bobcat defenders and shot from 35-yard out that was just over Kate Richardson's head.
83' Ryann Smith played a ball into the box that found the head of Alyssa Bergamini for the only Georgia College goal of the game.
 
TOP BRAVES
+ Alexis Pittman attempted five shots with two on goal. Pittman's goal in the 83rd-minute marked her fourth goal this season.
+ Rilee Seering also attempted five shots with three on goal. The reigning PBC Player of the Week has now scored in three different contests.
+ Newcomer Nutwadee Pramnak recorded her first point with an assist to Rilee Seering. Pramnak also fired off two shots.
+ Chiara Coppin logged a career-high three saves.
 
NOTABLES
+ The Black & Gold outshot Georgia College 21-7. Only seven of the shots by the Braves were on goal, while four of the shots for the Bobcats were on goal.
+ The 21 shots by UNCP matches a season-high. The Braves also recorded 21 shot earlier this season with a 2-0 win at Georgia Southwestern.
+ UNC Pembroke improves to 3-0-0 when playing on the road this season.
 
 
UP NEXT
The Braves will welcome Columbus State (3-0-1) to Pembroke on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Lumbee River EMC Stadium. The event is closed and spectators will not be admitted.
