COLUMBUS, GA. – Columbus State used three doubles and three home runs in the opening contest to take a 10-3 victory over the visiting UNC Pembroke softball team on Sunday afternoon at Cougar Field. The Braves managed a series split with a 2-0 victory in game two, fueled by a solo homer from
Kaci Roberson and standout pitching from
Lauren Gammons.
The outcome for the Braves (20-8, 8-2 PBC) in game two marked the first win in Columbus, Ga., since March 12, 2016. The setback for the Cougars (23-11, 8-4 PBC) snapped a 15-game home winning streak that dated back to March 21.
