GRAND VALLEY, Mich. – Orlandus Gamble became the first UNC Pembroke track & field student-athlete in program history to capture all-American status at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships with a seventh-place finish in the event on Friday at the GVSU Lacrossse/Track & Field Complex.
Gamble, who also claimed all-American status in the high jump to culminate the indoor season, cleared 2.05 meters on Friday and is the first outdoor all-American for the program since Javon Graham (110m Hurdles) during the 2018-19 season. The Braves raked in NAIA outdoor all-America honors in the High Jump eight times from 1971 to 1985.
Quanterra Harrison also competed on Friday and logged a 13
th-place finish in the 100-meter Hurdles preliminary action with a time of 14.66. Harrison is the first student-athlete from the women's program to compete on the sport's biggest stage since Jeanna Cube and Lashonda Tate both participated in the 2017-18 championships event.

Preston Coker competed in the opening round of action for the 4x100-meter relay on Thursday, but were disqualified after stepping out of their assigned lane.
