Francis Marion Upsets No. 8 Men’s Basketball

PEMBROKE – Visiting Francis Marion limited the 9th-ranked UNC Pembroke men's basketball team to just 28.1 percent shooting in the second half, including a 2-of-14 clip from the perimeter, to key an 89-76 victory over the Braves on Wednesday evening at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.

The setback snapped a six-game home win streak for the Braves (7-1, 0-1 CC), while also giving the Black & Gold its first loss in a conference opener since the 2019-20 campaign. The victory helped the Patriots (4-3, 2-0) snap a five-game series losing streak, while also giving Francis Marion its first win in Pembroke since Jan. 2, 2011.
