PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke baseball team registered 17 hits, including 10 of the extra-base variety, and got another quality start from freshman
Evan McLean to finish off a weekend sweep of visiting Chowan with an 18-0 rout of the Hawks on Sunday afternoon at Sammy Cox Field.
It was the fourth series sweep of the season for the Braves (19-6, 11-1 CC) who improved to 11-2 at Sammy Cox Field with Sunday's triumph as well. The Hawks (5-18, 0-12) have now dropped 10-straight games, and walked away from Pembroke still searching for their first Conference Carolinas win of the 2022 campaign.

The Braves got all the runs that they would need in the opening frame. Andrew Mills hit a two-out double to the gap in right field, and Christian Jayne followed with a RBI single to give UNCP the lead for good. Trent Harris' run-scoring double with the next at-bat made it a 2-0 lead heading to the second. |
