Softball Uses Big Offensive Day To Sweep Converse

DUNCAN, S.C. – The UNC Pembroke softball team combined to post 24 runs on 27 hits on the way to tacking up a doubleheader sweep of Converse on Saturday at Tyger River Park. The Braves rallied late to register an 8-0 win in the opener of the twinbill, before exploding for an abbreviated 16-7 rout in the nightcap.

The Braves (25-15, 14-10 CC) have now tasted victory in five of their last six outings, and used Saturday's success to move into a tie for sixth place in the Conference Carolinas standings. The setbacks marked the 24th and 25th consecutive losses for the Valkyries (1-47, ) who finished the 2022 campaign with a winless (0-20) mark at home.
