Braves Rally For Draw Against Francis Marion

PEMBROKE – A Maria Cancio goal in the 89th minute helped rally UNC Pembroke soccer to a 3-3 tie against Francis Marion Tuesday night at LREMC Stadium.

Abigail Lowry put the Braves ahead 1-0, but the Patriots answered with three unanswered goals before the Black & Gold mounted their comeback. Mercy Bell's 19th goal of the year tied the single-season school record before Cancio notched the equalizer. Anna Grossheim tied the single-season school record with her 11th assist of the season. Bell and Ashleigh Harris also recorded assists on the night.

The Braves (9-3-3, 7-1-3 CC) moved to 5-7-3 in the all-time series against the Patriots (7-4-4, 4-3-4 CC), and have now battled to a draw in the last three matchups with Francis Marion.
