DAHLONEGA, Ga. – North Georgia pounded out 22 hits and tallied three homers to help fuel a doubleheader sweep of the UNC Pembroke softball team on Saturday afternoon at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium. The Nighthawks limited the Braves to just one hit in the opening game for a 17-0 victory in five innings, and then capped off the sweep with a 3-0 victory in the back half of the doubleheader.
The setback for the Braves (2-5) have now lost their last four games and fall to 3-33 all-time against North Georgia. The Nighthawks (8-1) have now won their last seven games and are a perfect 6-0 when playing at home.

Sophie Mooney doubled to the right center field gap to plate two runs, followed by a Hannah Forehand homer to give the Nighthawks a 4-0 lead. The hosts put runners on first and second after a walk and a hit by pitch, but Gracie Mixson lit up the scoreboard with a three-run blast to cap off the seven-run inning. |
