PEMBROKE -  Athletic department officials at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to a partnership with PBS NC and Emerging Technologies Institute for the 2023-24 athletic season. 
 
Under the terms of the contract, PBS NC and ETI will be co-presenting partners for football's Education Day on September 30 at Grace P. Johnson Stadium. Tickets for all educators are $12 and are available at UNCPBraves.com/Tickets. 
 
"PBS North Carolina is proud to participate in Education Day at UNC Pembroke this year," said David Crabtree, CEO of PBS North Carolina. "Our Rootle Roadster team is excited to share free PBS KIDS games, activities, and playful learning experiences with families in Robeson County and beyond. We look forward to meeting new faces, catching up with old friends and strengthening our connection to the Pembroke community."
 
As part of Education Day, the PBS Rootle Roadster Tour will make its way to Pembroke. The tour allows kids to play, explore and share free hands-on activities, games, demonstrations with community partners, PBS KIDS educational resources and more. Each stop of the Rootle Roadster Tour will feature learning experiences through purposeful play that families can enjoy together.

Located in Red Springs, ETI is an innovation hub for the United States Department of Defense. ETI has the mission to integrate emerging technology into local, state, and federal agencies by fostering innovation through collaborative partnerships with industry and academia.
