BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kaeleigh Cupples broke her own school record in the 100-yard Individual Medley to highlight action for the UNC Pembroke swimming team, who defeated King and Converse inside the Kingsport Aquatics Center. 

The Braves defeated King 152.5-42.5, and knocked off Converse 124-75. 

Cupples touched the wall in a time of 1:01.52 to beat out the field. The 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of Fabiana Pesce, Ianna Gomez Veloz, Naekeisha Louis, Britta Schwengle won the event in a time of 1:39.46, while Sofia Pereira took top honors in the 1000-yard Freestyle with a time of 10:40.50.

Naekeisha Louis claimed the 50-yard Freestyle event title in a time of 24.71, while Gabby Hyson won the 100-yard Butterfly in a time of 58.89. 

The Black & Gold won nine event titles on Friday. UNCP placed top-3 in 17 events as well. The Braves will be back in action on Feb. 19 for the Conference Carolinas Championships. The four-day meet will take place in Cary, N.C. at the Triangle Aquatic Center.
