Soccer Picks Up Road Win At Ferrum

FERRUM, VA. – UNC Pembroke got back on track with its seventh shutout in eight games on the way to a 2-0 road victory over Ferrum in Conference Carolinas play Friday evening at Penn-Roediger Field.

Eugenie Amidou recorded a brace to lead the Braves, while Piper Hill tallied seven saves to earn her first collegiate clean sheet. Jasmin Diop added an assist on Amidou's first goal.

The Braves (6-3-1, 6-1-1 CC) improved to 2-0-0 in the all-time series with the Panthers (2-7-2, 1-7-0 CC), while also moving to 5-1-0 when playing on the road this season.
 
SCORING SUMMARY
75' Jasmin Diop flicked a free kick service ahead to Eugenie Amidou, who wiggled free for a shot and fired a left-footed strike into the back of the net to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.
86' Johanna Persson was taken down in the box, resulting in a penalty kick. Amidou stepped up and drilled it past the diving Ferrum goalkeeper to put the game away.

+ Mercy Bell had season highs in shots (8) and shots on goal (5).
+ Jasmin Diop tallied an assist, while also logging a season-high four shots on goal.

UNCP will wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday, October 15, as they host Wingate for Global Engagement Night. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at LREMC Stadium.
