GREENVILLE, S.C. – After nearly registering a triple-double in the season opener, senior Moe Bangura has been named as the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, league officials announced Monday afternoon.

Bangura averaged 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks on the week. A native of Lorton, Va., Bangura started the week with 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks at USC Aiken. The senior closed out the week with 13 points and six rebounds against Lander while also adding one steal and one block. 

Bangura, who started in both games over the weekend, is shooting 50 percent from the field through a pair of games and averages 28.5 minutes per game.
