WACO, Texas – Postseason accolades continued to roll in for the UNC Pembroke football team on Wednesday when Isi Etute was named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-America Team. 
 
The announcement marks the first all-America honor for Etute. Etute becomes just the third player in the history of the program to earn the honor from the AFCA, joining punter Isaac Parks who picked up the award in 2018, and wide receiver Jo Hayes who was named ot the list in 2024.
 
Etute was tabbed 2^nd team D2 CCA all-region after being named as the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year. Etute finished the season leading Conference Carolinas in tackles for loss yards with 15. The redshirt junior also was atop the league standing in sacks with five. Etute had12 solo tackles for a loss of yards, while finishing the season with 50 total tackles, 28 of which were solo tackles. 
 
Etute ranks 20th in the nation for tackles for loss yards.
