HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST HALF
The game started with Ferrum taking an early lead as Gerren Jones scored a layup just 17 seconds into play. Despite Ferrum maintaining an initial advantage with contributions from Rodrigo Farias, UNC Pembroke responded with a strategic offense. Javonte Waverly's successful 3-pointer at 17:26 followed by a three from Demar Anderson moments later cut the UNCP deficit back to 12-8 with 14:40 on the clock. Quay Watson's consistent performance, highlighted by a layup at the 9:10 mark knotted the score at 18, but would spark the Braves on a 15-3 surge that stretched to the 3:18 mark and pushed the lead out the 33-12. The Braves held a 41-29 advantage as the teams headed into the locker rooms.
2ND HALF
Ferrum started the half on a 13-2 run to cut its deficit back to 43-42 following a layup from Abdul Diaby at the 15:24 mark. UNC Pembroke's Demar Anderson answered with a 3-pointer at 14:58, giving the Braves a 46-42 lead. Despite a persistent effort from Ferrum, including another 3-pointer from Jones at 13:43 to cut the Ferrum deficit back to 48-47, UNCP's balanced scoring, highlighted by Quay Watson's layup at 8:08 cushioned the UNCP lead 65-58. The Braves managed to hold off Ferrum's late rally attempts, closing out the half with a 79-71 advantage.
