VIRGINIA BEACH – Geri Herrera broke the indoor school record in the women's 200m, while Mekhi Hayes set the new indoor school record in the men's 200m to highlight final-day action at the D1 Pre-Nationals on Saturday.

Herrera finished 11th and crossed in a time of 25.17 to set the record-breaking mark. Mallory Haney finished sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.47m and was the highest finisher for either UNCP squad on the day.

Hayes posted a record-breaking time of 21.80 to take 11th in the 200m, while Antoine King established a new-personal best and finished 12th in the shot put with a mark of 13.15m.

Overall, the two teams combined for seven new personal bests at the Division I-heavy event.

Both squads will now turn their attention to the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships, set for February 23-24. The event will take place at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem. Visit the link below for more information on the indoor championships.
