PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's track & field's Sofia Skidmore and men's track & field's Payden Lewis have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on March 22, 2026.

A native of the United Kingdom, Skidmore broke the school record in the Mile Run on Saturday at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational with a time of 5:08.28 and placed seventh. The sophomore also placed eighth in the 800-meter Run with a personal-best time of 2:19.67.

A product of Wake Forest, Lewis took top honors in the 5000-meter Run at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational over the weekend. The junior crossed the finish line in a time of 15:11.46 to beat his personal-best time by over 40 seconds.
