PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that volleyball's McKenna Hayes and men's basketball's Javonte Waverly have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on November 16, 2025.

A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., Hayes helped the Braves to a victory over Shorter in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament hitting a match-high .688. The senior tallied 12 kills and added five block assists as well. 

Waverly averaged 22.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games. The Henderson native scored 16 points at USC Aiken and closed out the week with a career and game-high 29 points against Lander. Waverly also had two assists and one block during the week.
