PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Bre'Asia Washington and baseball's Landon Lucas have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on February 8, 2026.

An everyday starter for the Black & Gold, Washington averaged 23.0 points and shot 54.8 percent from the field during the week. A native of Lakeland, Fla., Washington tallied her second 30-point game this season logging a career and game-high 32 points at Emmanuel. Washington finished the week with eight assists, six rebounds, five steals, and two blocks.  

A native of Blythewood, S.C., Lucas went 8-for-12 from the plate in a sweep over Salem. The graduate student tallied three doubles, two triples, one home run and drove in 12 runs. Lucas also started on the mound for the Braves during Sunday's victory where he struck out six batters in 5.0 innings of work and picked up the win.
