ABCA – Ashton Donathan continued the postseason recognition for the UNC Pembroke baseball team on Thursday as the junior catcher was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Southeast Region All-Defensive Team.

Donathan becomes just the sixth Brave in program history to earn the honor, and the first since Jordan Edgerton and Ben Schmucker both brought home the award in 2013.

A native of Sanford, Donathan played in 47 games with 46 starts behind the plate for the Black & Gold and turned in a .985 fielding percentage after making just six errors in 401 total chances. Donathan also threw out 27 potential base stealers while logging just two passed balls.
