Ikenegbu, Bangura Named Braves Of The Week

PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Grace Ikenegbu and men's basketball's Moe Bangura have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on January 18, 2026.

A native of Anderson, S.C., Ikenegbu started in both games last week and averaged 11.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. The junior posted her first double-double of the season during Saturday's victory with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ikenegbu leads Conference Carolinas in rebounds per game and averaged 7.0 offensive boards on the week as well. 

Bangura started in both games and averaged 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds on the week. A native of Lorton, Va., Bangura scored 15 points at Erskine highlighted by a 10-for-12 clip from the free throw line. Bangura finished the week with two blocks and one assist as well.
