PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Tiana Spann and baseball's Ryan Wells have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on February 15, 2026.

A native of Charleston, S.C., Spann averaged 16.0 points and 8.5 rebounds last week while shooting 65.2 percent from the field. Spann's week was highlighted by a career-high 20 points against Southern Wesleyan where she also logged her fourth double-double with 13 rebounds. The redshirt senior added one assist and one block for the week as well. 

A product of Caledon, Ontario, Canada, Wells earned a save in the second game of the series against Mount Olive where he faced three batters and did not allow a hit. The redshirt junior closed out the weekend earning the win in the final game of the series against the Trojans throwing two scoreless innings and allowing just one hit to clinch the series win.
