PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Bre'Asia Washington and wrestling's Cooper Davis have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on March 1, 2026.

A native of Lakeland, Fla., Washington averaged 20.5 points over two games and shot 46.6 percent from the field. The junior started the week with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals against Chowan. She closed out the week with 24 points against Ferrum to go along with three rebounds. 

A product of Davidson, N.C., Davis punched his ticket to the NCAA National Championship going 5-1 at the NCAA Regional meet. The redshirt freshman placed third in regionals picking up wins via a major decision, two tech fall victories and pin.
