Baseball Drops Conference Carolinas Opener To No. 1 North Greenville

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke tallied eight hits, but left nine on base on the way to an 8-1 loss to No. 1 North Greenville Friday afternoon in the Conference Carolinas opener for the Braves.

The Black & Gold put traffic on the bases offensively in seven innings, with Isaias Villarreal leading the way with a 3-4 day at the plate, including an RBI double that drove in the only run for the Braves.

The Braves (8-3, 0-1 CC) fell to 3-10 in the all-time series against the Trailblazers (12-1, 3-1 CC).

UNCP will be back in action Saturday as the two squads wrap up the series with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for noon.

BOT 3 NGU's Bryce Roddey and Brett Blomquist each singled to lead off the frame, with Roddey coming home on Gideon Antle's RBI single, before Josh Foulks made it a 5-0 game with a three-run homer to left.
TOP 5 Ramses Cordova singled and advanced to second an error to lead off the inning, and would sprint home on Isaias Villarreal's RBI double to cut the lead to 6-1.
