CARY – Sofia Pereira and Benedetta Pepe Pugliese both raked in individual event title, and played a key part in pacing the UNC Pembroke swimming team to the its second-straight conference title on the final day of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Championships.
 
The Braves totaled 719.50 points across the 4-day event Cary to outlast Emmanuel who finished with 7-3.50 points. Montevallo was third with 606.0 points.

Pereira, who broke the school record and Conference Carolinas meet record in the 1650-yard Freestyle event on Saturday, was named Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, while Oscar Roverato picked up the league's coach of the year honors for the third consecutive year.
 
Pereira and Britta Schwengle took first and second, respectively in the 1650-yard Freestyle with a pair of NCAA B Standard times, while Fatima Portillo and Katie Raleigh finished second and third in the 200-yard Butterfly with a pair of NCAA B Standard times as well. Fabiana Pesce earned runner-up honors in the 100-yard Freestyle with an NCAA B Standard time of 51.68. Ianna Gomez Veloz placed third in the 200-yard Breaststroke to earn all-conference honors with a time of 2:25.89. The 400-yard Freestyle Relay team of Fabiana Pesce, Naekeisha Louis, Ianna Gomez Veloz, Britta Schwengle placed second in the event with a mark of 3:30.84 to close out the action.
