INDIANAPOLIS – Mekhi Hayes crossed with a time of 21.56 and finished 17th in the 200m prelims at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday evening.

The freshman capped off an impressive rookie campaign in which he established a new indoor school record and set a new Conference Carolinas indoor championships meet record in the 200m. Hayes became just the fifth Brave to qualify for the men's indoor championships, and the first since Orlandus Gamble competed during the 2021-22 season.
