MAXTON – The UNC Pembroke softball team logged 11 hits in both games on Thursday afternoon to help fuel a sweep over Fayetteville State in non-conference action at the Purnell Swett Softball Field. The Braves took game one 9-0 in five innings, and completed the sweep 11-3 in five innings of game two. 

Kaitlynn Hunt and Chloe Locklear each had a double in the first game as the Black & Gold scored multiple runs across three innings. Summer Bullard fanned seven batters in the back half of the doubleheader as Samantha Allred, Alona Hanna and Zoe Godard all had a double during the contest.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 1)
BOT 2	UNC Pembroke loaded the bases with singles from Samantha Allred and Marijo Wilkes and a walk from Kylie Johnson. Kaitlyn King singled to left field to bring in Allred, Alex Serbio reached on a fielder's choice to score Wilkes, and a two-run double from Kaitlynn Hunt put the Braves ahead early 4-0.
KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
BOT 1	The Braves loaded up the bases with singles from Kaitlynn Hunt and Alona Hanna and a walk from Samantha Allred. Marijo Wilkes drew a walk to score Hunt, followed by a fielder's choice from Katie Hogue to plate Hanna. Cayden Thomas knocked and RBI single through the infield followed by a two-run single from Kylie Johnson. Zoe Godard double to drive in a runner as Alex Serbio capped off the inning with an RBI single to put UNCP out in front 7-0.
TOP 5	Fayetteville State put runners on the corners with singles from Isabella Rumbold and Cheyenne Payne. Sydney Jackson drove in a Bronco with a single followed by a two-run double to left field from A'Leah Wilson.
