Baseball Shut Out In Loss To Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, GA. – UNC Pembroke got an excellent start out of Spencer Ledford, but couldn't crack Young Harris starter, Zach Hart, on the way to a 1-0 loss to the Mountain Lions in Game 1 of the Conference Carolinas series Friday night at Zell B. Miller Field.

Ledford turned in six scoreless innings on the bump, allowing just two hits to go along with seven strikeouts.

Blake Hinson, Jake Bradley, Kasen McCawley, and Ramses Cordova each tallied a hit apiece for the only UNCP offense.

The Braves (13-7, 3-4 CC) fell to 18-9 in the all-time series with the Mountain Lions (14-6, 7-3 CC), and were shut out for the first time in its last 48 games.

UNCP will be back in action Saturday as the two squads wrap up the series with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
